So there are now three restaurants in Chile that I can get behind.

The First was Astrid and Gaston,  which just sounds like a good restaurant. Their authentic chilean dishes, and bbq suckling pig, won me over. It´s a bit pricey though, so I´ll rank it third.

The second was Vendetta, at Parque Arauco.
It´s looks a bit like a chain, but their steaks are incredible. I don´t like to rank Steaks, so I will just say that each of the three steaks I have ordered there were perfect.  I have never had better. They are in a six way tie for first.   If this place was a chain, Their steak would be the equivalent of  Carrabbas Chicken Brian.  Only more so, since it´s steak. But that´s all I am going to say.

Thirdly, last night I fianlly checked out this wine and tapas restaurant not too far from me called Miguel Torres.   I am not a sea bas fan but this preparation was the best I had ever had. Absolutely loved it. They did something with mushed up squash that I have never had before, and the greenish drizzle was awesome (Sounds great doesn´t it!).    Also on the menue was Fois Gras Ravioli with Black truffle oil.
That could have been good too.  And the best Part? They have a bar that I can sit at!

Honorable mention to the ever popular Tiramisu, which is growing one me, but I still don´t understand why it is so crowded all the time.

So, while I was sitting at the Bar having that Sea Bass, I really began to love Bridge of Sighs,  Richard Russon´s new book.  It was slow to develop, of course,  but once Buddy Nurt shows up, the chapters start to really roll.   I wish I could put some excepts here, but I ain´t gonna manually type them again.

Still, I don´t know how univeral the appeal of Russo´s stories are. I only know that really knows how to tell them.   I think in the end I prefer the generosity he wrote with in his early works: Allways giving extra helpings of all the great cafe conversations and quirky character traits.
The last two books have more complex storylines which necessitate a more rationed narration.   This latest book is especially clever in it´s approach.  He jumps around, but never jerks you around.

Or something like that. Mostly though, it´s just good.

Speaking of complex stories, if you go to PT anderson´s web site you can get answers to questions like: Where did Jim´s gun go? Is the TV host a pederast?  Who killed the guy in Marcy´s Closet?   There is even some more unused script from the seek and detroy seminar.
