I have never read much of the fantasy genre but I am willing to give it a try. I don't really have any suggestions. I just finished Princes of Ireland by Edward Rutherfurd and I cannot say I recommend it. I am a pretty big fan of historical fiction but this was not as good as his previous books especially London. I think my next book will be Long Dark Teatime of the Soul by Douglas Adams. I have not heard good reviews of the Hitchhikers Guide movie so I will read one of his later books instead. I think I will also pick up Peace Kills by P.J. O'Rourke. Sean, what did you think of the HBO version of Empire Falls. I haven't seen it yet and I don't know if I want to spend 4 hours of my life watching a story when I already know the ending.
